We will soon be starting a new year of a new Jupiter energy in Aquarius. Anyone have any thoughts or expectations? Anyone with this in their natal or someone they know have it?

I certainly hope this year is better than 1997. That was a terrible year for me. I was so depressed. It was a fruitful time in terms of personal growth, but it was a terrible experience. Saturn was in Aries that year too, my Sun sign. I am sure that had more to do with it than Jupiter in Aquarius.

hmm. 1997 was the year my twins graduated from high school and they were our youngest. They left home that year, headed for college in August. I've got three progressed planets in Aquarius. Not really great for the circulation at my age. (mid 50's)
Yes, I agree that Saturn in Aries probably was more responsible for the depression than Jupiter but it's really hard to say. The traditional astrologers give rulership of Aquarius to Saturn. That's a hard one to wrap my brain around, but it works well in horary charts.
I hope it's a better year for you, too!

I'd forgotten that I have Progressed Sun at 3 deg Aquarius - what good news! - and Prog ASC at 4 Aquarius.
I know a lot of Aquarians - most of the people I work with are Aquarian or Cap - should be interesting! Aquarians having Jupiter on their Suns while some of the Caps meet Pluto.
I can think of one person I know who has Jupiter at 11 deg Aquarius - she has a 'charmed' life.
Molly I hope that 2009 treats you better than 1997 did.

Nothing for me, but my hubby has NNode at 6* Aquarius in the 1st house... I'm keen to see how this plays out for him as he also has an eclipse on this point in a couple of mths time... He's a Saggy Sun (conjunct Jupiter) so I imagine he feels Jupiter's movements... Will let you know if anything relevant happens...

Oh I forgot that too - I have North Node at 5 deg Aquarius. My brain must also be on holiday. What degree is the eclipse?
Pinky - my Sag Sun is also cnj Jupiter with a 6 deg orb. I think I have a lot of chart similarities with your husband if I remember correctly.

1997 was a positive yr - Jupiter crossed my ASC and I became far less serious and more rebellious. I stopped dieting but lost weight anyways contrary to the belief that Jupiter on ASC makes the waistline expand. On the downside, I recall being arrogant as all hell, and I thought I had things all figured out although I was just a sheltered teenager.
I'm a Cap and Jupiter transiting my sun sign is supposed to be a good thing, but I really felt like Jupiter just disappeared transiting my 12th.

Thanks for pointing this out Paula - I'd thought Aqua Jup (sounds like a super hero) started with my vacation at the end of January. I guess instead all of January may be a positive since my Venus is 29 degree Taurus, and that starts the lineup of my Gemini planets.

OK after some searching into memory lane... I realized that during this time I made many lifestyle changes that would connect deeper with my career path and life...
The urge that came up again and again during this time was that I HAD to change my job that was more suited to my inner values. My natal Jupiter in Aquarius in conjunct MC.
I did indeed quit my job and found the job that I still work at today 11year later...which has been instrumental in my growth. Also I went to Art school which gave me a BFA and lived out a life long dream.
I know am being called again to deepen my career again. And am about to apply for a masters program this coming Fall. Wanting to work with COmmunity (Aquarius) in a bigger way (Jupiter) is very important to me. (MC)
Also my relationship to my art practice is deepening once again. I can only relate this to my natal Venus in Leo...Finding balance through the opposition, removing obsticals that once opposed me or seemed completely unreachable.

I asked two people to think back (both having Venus in Aquarius Natally) One a Gemini the other an Aries.
The Gemini said during that time he took a huge leap of faith and left everything behind. Moved to Korea for a couple of years. And learned to live with his emptiness. He also had a global awareness with another culture and worked directly with community.
The Aries said she went to Mexico for the first time which started a life long Love with a country and its people. She has lived there several times over the last 12 years and intends to buy property there one day. She became very dedicated to her writing at this time and was published.
Both of these people feel NOW that they are embarking on a new chapter in their lives. And both again are about to go traveling and expand their horizons.
They are both writers and are again becoming more dedicated to there craft. I think since I am feeling this way as well, that this is Venus's involvement.

With Jupiter at it's last gasp in Capricorn, my natal 28 degree Taurus Mars has a quick transit. It played out nicely in that my Subaru required more repairs than I had money, an old boyfriend showed up who just happened to have gotten a car from an old girlfriend for $1,000, so he *gave* it to me (thank you Jupiter!) and the car repair shop kept my car (I owed them, they said, $1500 to just do the diagnostics that led to the sad diagnosis) and said they would use it as a "shop car" -- whatever that means. Anyhoo, my point is that Jupiter tends to not bring the huge windfall gains unless it makes a station somewhere on some personal point or in aspect to a personal point. ((I bought a lottery ticket anyway today, because hey, after all it is Jupiter trine Mars, even for just a few days...))
The Jupiter Chiron Neptune conjunction is what I've got my eye on, and I am seeing many people gearing up for that particular conjunction. I think there might be a big collective "owie" that needs to be recognized before the healing can begin. Since this is going off topic I will start a thread pertaining to that conjunction because I think it's important to garner all the support we can amongst ourselves so that we can spread the intention of healing to others. This Christmas was a very hard one for many people and I think it portends some of the healing issues that will be coming up.

I noticed this morning that Jupiter in Aquarius is going to conjunct some of my midpoints - happy days.
This xmas has been hard for a lot of people - let's hope the healing begins soon.

I can remember that 1997 was a year of change for me, I was still a teenager and had heaps of changes and upheavals happening with my family. Natally, I don't have anything in aquarius apart from my descendant ... and my progressed sun too.

I've just registered as I felt I had to post a reply to this. This is my first visit to this forum.
Natally I have Mercury and Saturn in Aquarius, 5th House. 1997 found me continuing a process of change begun the previous year when transiting Pluto squared my 5th house Mars-Sun conjunction in Pisces. Part of a T-square my Mars-Sun square Moon in Gemini (9th house) and oppose my Uranus-Pluto conjunction in Virgo (12th house). Heavy stuff indeed. You might even say karmic.
But back to Jupiter entering Aquarius. 1997 was the year I began studying astrology and keeping a dream diary, both of which expanded my mind and understanding of the world I inhabit. Dream images became symbols and with astrology helped me make sense of the direction I became to realise I was being guided to take. 11 years later I still keep a dream diary and astrology is an important part of my life.
With a stellium of 4 planets in my 5th house I am an artist and designer. Until 1996/97 I had made a living as a freelance designer. I had begun to feel increasingly uncomfortable with the commercial work I was doing so I stopped. Since then my creative work has become informed by what I've learnt about myself through studying astrology and mythology and a deeper connection with the natural world. During 2009 I intend to produce very personal work for exhibition at some future date.
It may interest you to know that I have a particular interest in the Shadow side of human nature which I explore in my art. It has been a dark journey at times but always worth it.
I hope this helps.

Claire, very interesting info. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum. Sometimes I forget the fifth house is creative energy! Hard to imagine I could be so obtuse. My husband's solar return has alot of 5th house energy (many planets) for Sept 2008 - Sept 2009 and I hadn't even thought of that aspect of that energy. (slapping hand on head now and saying DUH)
