Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
well...Thanksgiving was such a surprise knife-thru-the-heart that I ran my transits the next day to see what was up. Sure 'nuff, there was Trans. Saturn squaring my sun/saturn opposition. Grrrreat.
I was surprised at how accurate some of the online info was: yes, this all has to do with commitments and responsibilities I shouldered 7 years ago during my Saturn conj. sun, which have become too draining and exhausting on too many levels to count. Time to let go and let be. Sad, but honest. I also have the low physical vitality going. A week ago, I pulled an old exercise book out of the bookcase that I hadn't opened in years, thinking it would be good for me to get stronger. But now I know about these squares, I'm scared it will be too much Saturn added to my emotional workload, too debilitating to my lower energy field. I once overworked myself to a year in bed, so I DO need to be cautious (T. saturn was opposing Mars on that one ) So I guess I'm wondering if anyone has gotten sick while undergoing Saturn square sun or Saturn? Or if you have other survival experiences ~ success through hard work for example ~ please do share!!! |

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
I had a tough time at work when Saturn squared my Sun - end 2009. But I ended up quitting my permanent job and going freelance, and I've been much happier workwise since then.

For weeks my coworkers were like, "you look like hell, are you ok?" I don't know about hard work... I fell in love during the transit, and that certainly brightened my days. Something I never read about in the textbooks - transiting Saturn has always brought more love in my life. Best of luck w/ur transit! O. divinorum Archives http://odivinorum.wordpress.com |

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Hello, I'm just going through Saturn's opposition to my 3rd house Sun/Mercury conjunction, feeling its influence alright. This transit is really finding me drained of energy. The past few years have been turbo-charged, with so many things happening .... finished my PhD, got married, worked hard at my job, had two kids born less than two years apart, have had Pluto transiting my Cap AC (huge inner changes!) have seen members of my family get sick or having nervous breakdowns ... and now it feels like I'm going to get one, too
During all these years, I've been exerting huge amounts of energy (six cardinal planets in my chart!), had very little sleep but heaps of responsibilities, but now it feels like my body is going on strike. Will I be able to slow down? Perhaps Saturn is showing me something here

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Hi Jardine, sure sounds like you have a full plate. When I had two children in diapers, I had Sat. oppos the sun too, it was winter, I was isolated, & everything was soooo hard.
An old adage says "Venus is the antidote to Saturn" ... loving and enjoyment in the now. Easier said than done I know Looking back tho I sure wish that I had been less of a perfectionist, just said "NO" to a warped sense of Duty, and had asked for more help. Now my two kids are just about out of the nest: to think I'd ever wish for those days of little footsie pajamas back again, but I do...! During this square I am finding myself doing a heck of a lot of internet surfing when my mind just has to shut down for a while due to all the stress. On a broader note, to answer my own question above, I have stuck with the working out, albeit timidly, no more than 25 mins a day, two days on, one day to recover. I think it's helping, not hurting. I just had my mars return so that's probably giving me an energy boost. |

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Hi ellsbells, I really enjoyed your reply. I think your point about Venus as an antidote to Saturn is spot on, and as a person with a Saturn-ruled chart I should take note
I remember my astrology teacher saying that while many people think that under a Saturn transit, the task is to be more dutiful and self-disciplined, sometimes the opposite is what is asked ... the mounting pressure sort of opens our eyes to the fact that we cannot continue like this, and we finally say "enough"! Usually, we find that life does not collapse after we've decided to take on less (much as we believed that before). And if anything collapses, it was probably not very firm in the first place.Transiting Uranus is soon going to sextile my 5th house Venus and progressed Sun is going to conjoin it. A time to enjoy life, after all ....?

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Just thought I'd follow up with the Saturn square issue.
I was working out very carefully & thoughtfully, with built-in rest days, and enjoying the feeling of getting stronger. Then I went to help a relative work on his barn, and got a stress fracture of my right foot trying to wrestle a too heavy load into a pickup truck all by self with all that new muscle I felt so proud of am on crutches for 4 weeks . And now, after a year it looks like I'm finally selling my home too ~~ just when I can't do any heavy lifting. grrrrrreeat. Interestingly, a woman who has almost the same sun degree as I do, moved two months ago, and got two herniated discs from heavy lifting. She is now immobilized, getting epidural treatments for the pain. It's worse for her because her husband has Parkinson's and they count on her being mobile to get things done. T. saturn square sun. Heavy burden ~ physically? Ayep, mebbe so I think I better start doing those Donna Cunningham chants to alleviate some of the transits energy. I'm usually not big on chanting, but perhaps someone out there finds them effective...?

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Can I just say, this has been by far theeee worst transit I've ever experienced, the Saturn-Sun contact? Transiting Saturn Conjuncts Natal Sun right now.
- depressed - overworked - isolated (actually for past few years, it's just hitting me harder) - bitter as all get-out Pluto was at 19 degrees Libra, so since then, it's really taken its toll I started noticing. On my mind and emotions, and a little bit my body. At the time, I was coming in to work at 12noon (second shift SUCKS to begin with)... leave to class (working on a Master degree that I ended up switching anyhow so I'm starting ALL over again and set myself back time-wise, I feel, even though I know I *did* learn some things so maybe I really didn't set myself back)... come back to work to finish up and leave by 12:30-1:00am. Not get to sleep until 3am because you're wide awake, then wake up with sunlight - I'm a light sleeper with sunlight around - 7 or 8am. WIDE AWAKE!!! The best you do is crash on the weekends, but that's the only time you see your friends/loved ones, so you're isolated from the world. I don't understand how it is on a 1st shift with the same stress levels, and I would cry hours of tears if they changed our hours of operation and put me on a 3rd shift where I work. All I know is: this shift SUCKS.... This is by no means cakewalk. The WORST part about this - my heart knows there's an end to this and that things will be better than ever but... my mind can't wrap itself around "the end of hell" and "the start of a better life". It all just looks depressing and dark. So, a big challenge lately has been that "I know this" and that I need to disconnect from that part. I thought maybe it was S.A.D., as we live in the North where winter clouds block sunlight during this time of year--- but even on a recent super-sunny day, I may have felt more "awake", but I was still feeling slightly depressed-- almost like, "What's the point of all this life?" Not in a suicidal way... but in a "why try?" way. My mother suggested a light anxiety treatment (something in the direction of a light dose of Xanax, as I've been having a LOT of anxiety issues lately). Transiting Mars Conjuncts my Saturn in Virgo right now too, so there's nothing better than adding hard work to already burdening times. There's a threat that a close family member (very special to me) could be seeing her last days, and I can't visit her because I have so much work to do. I know Mars is entering her 1st House soon, and she's just all over the place mentally - losing her mind to dementia. It's not the same person, anyhow... so I feel sort of like I'm slowly grieving her, too. On a good note, numerologically I'm in a One Year right now for until Fall 2012... I noticed that soon after my birthday 2011, when I entered the One Year, I started off with an entirely new supervising crew under me, each one of them have brought so much talent and skill to the table and they truly, truly take care of our operation where I manage. They keep the place light and happy and I can tell things have turned around from what they used to be --- but the crew also expanded, so the span of control is more to manage, too... but at least it was a "one-energy", that sort of "new beginning"... just a lot of work!!! LOL I changed my desk around, I feel better about that, ... but when will this END already!? It feels like hell. And I've got a couple years yet left of this Master degree... will it lighten up? |

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Yes, it will end
Look up on an ephemeris when this transit is over for you and try to hang on till then! Usually the first hit is the worst, right? And try a sleep mask to deal with morning light issues ~ you definitely need yr sleep under this transit! When I had the Sat/Sun conj I was head of a dysfunctional 501c3, with an even more dysfunctional board over me to deal with. NOT good times. I quit after two years ... But hopefully one day I will be told at my Life Review that I did good work and it was worth it? I don't know if this helps you any, but I have since figured out that during the aftermath of the exact square transit, recent chaos & delay with the sale of the house that was making me so distraught really WAS to my highest good. Mind you, I was kicking quite the cosmic fuss in the midst of it, a lot of "why am I being burdened FURTHER, aren't I a good enough person trying to walk in the light, is the Universe MAD at me?". I had NO faith that this was going to work out for my good, but it did, when an even better deal came along because of the delay. Thank you God/Goddess/Universe for watching out for me. (Although why it was to my good to have a broken foot now, is beyond me. Am I being kept out of a tractor trailer highway accident by immobility? Who knows? But I am going to work harder at trusting) Still, am I terrified when Saturn goes retro and squares my sun again? You betcha

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
WELL... funny you say that, I've already looked into this. Saturn retrogrades and gets out of my hair, vibrationally, as far as my Sun is concerned rather soon within a month or so. It goes back over my Directed Saturn sometime in the next several months... then goes in direct motion back over Directed Saturn,... and the "re-appearance" of this awful Saturn Conjunct Sun energy comes again towards the end of September, early October 2012 for its last little "dig" against me. I also have a Mars Conjunction by Transit to my Natal Moon, which happens to Square my Progressed Mars in Virgo around early October. I am speculating that won't be a pretty week either, ... plus I move into a Two Year that Fall... which says a time of incubation and hidden developments (roughly said: more waiting, testing of patience, detours, potential conflicts.... I have a Progressed ASC in Aries, is this starting to paint a picture of how I am right now?? LOL!!!) I am sick of waiting. Four long years at this place, and still stuck - no one is retiring or moving - the people 20-30 years older than me can't do their jobs, or they are in ill-health and taking lots of time off. Granted, when I get to that age, I don't want to be "ousted" just because I have health problems... but why don't THEY have to do these shifts? In THEIR day, this place wasn't even open past 7pm, I bet you!!!!! (slight exaggeration, but still,... you get my point) You're right, it's like a "Why me?" type of transit... why is the Universe SO cruel to me. Except, I've been asking this question for the past 4 years that I've been here.

RE: Tr. Saturn Square Sun/Saturn
Wow that is indeed a lot of energy to absorb and learn from ... have you read steve arroyo's "Astrology, Karma & Reincarnation" ? A lot of good stuff about saturn in there, thank goodness I had it in hand before my first saturn return.
perhaps it will be a comfort if I share that my last trans. Mars conj natal moon wasn't huge at all... I remember I was really cranky and had a spat with a friend one evening, and only then looked at my chart the next day. but the event couldn't have been THAT bad because now I can't remember who/what it was, and it was within the last two months. And I'm a Cancer, ruled by the Moon! so I found that effect to be really passing... just remember to count to ten if you get tempermental, unlike moi but if others want to jump in here and contradict me, having had larger repercussions, redirecting the thread to a discussion of Mars/moon go ahead, it's my thread and I don't mind if you hijack it
