I Dream of Africa
nester enters another realm of the forums. Wink

Seems like in the last two years maybe more I haven't had very memorable themes in my dreams - if I do, can't remember.

Last night dreamt for a long time, interconnecting scenes, you know when one leads into and connects to another or references a previous one?

I was in Africa apparently but I was in a circular route that involved the airport or a railroad station perhaps, a channel that you need to go through until you're 'free' to enter the country. It felt like shopping as well. Not knowing what to bring, having things in my hands, like being a beach tourist most of what I had appeared casual, no hardcase suitcase for example but an over-the-shoulder totebag. It was me who was making this a longer process than needed because it seemed at some point I'd exit the line, mill about in the station or airport, then re-enter it. Turns out when I finally let myself be totally processed I was then *exiting* the country. I was on a shuttle or train and from a window saw a bit of the country which I then knew was South Africa, looked like tribal huts made of stick or other brown earthy material. It looked interesting. I knew then I'd missed some scenes I might've wanted to see, and I had misgivings that I'd come so far only to apparently waste my time in transit. It wasn't completely clear that I had that much time anyways .. since I hadn't taken it seriously and blocked time off for this visit but went sort of on a whim?

Sidenote: I've actually gained acquaintances who are from S.A., and I'm in a black phase as far as what I read and movies I watch .. I've become interested in the black experience of life in the U.S.
