Any traders on the forum?
I am interested to know if anyone here trades stocks, commodities, options etc.

I noticed a big drop in the market last week when Mars squared Neptune, and Tuesday when Mars squared Saturn, and a nice recovery this morning as the Sun trines Jupiter. It has me wondering if the market will drop again when the trine passes at 11:12 ET.

I'm just starting to track these things, and I wanted to know if anyone else on NOR watches the market astrologically.

I don't trade at all, but I do like to read "Market Week" on Stariq.com. Very interesting astrological observations regarding the market.

I watch the sharemarket down here in NZ but don't actually read up much, apart from the odd Market Week on StarIQ too. I think it's a fascinating area but I'd probably start with the mundane astrology chart for NZ and try and figure out what domestic cycles we were in here as a base, before looking at the market-specific transits. I bought the Nicholas Campion (et al) book on Mundane Astrology but, alas, it was too scholarly for this small brain. Horary is my current focus ;-) Hoping to apply those techniques to mundane interps once I have got to grips with the basics... So much to learn!!

TigerBunny - that's me...
Grand Water Trine (3rd Nep-Scorp / 7th Sun-Chiron-Pisces / 11th Jup-Cancer) with Pisces Sun Opp Pluto/Uranus = Kite
Plus a 7th house-1st house catastrophe. It's all good.

Fascinating! I know a few people who trade. How did things turn out thursday? I think I would pay more attention if someone out there had a proven system...maybe they do and it's a well guarded secret. Big Grin

Right now I don't have enough ... liquidity ... to really trade much but I have dabbled, just because I think it is really fun and because I am really lucky at it somehow. (sharebuilder.com lets you trade for small amounts & there isn't an inactivity fee.)

Sometimes I'll read the Market Week column at Star IQ too, but my current investments are for the long term so I'm not too concerned about short-term aspects. (I am kind of worried about the dollar though, and the US debt.)

Yawbo, the market really followed the astrology! The market rose on Thursday with the Sun Jupiter trine, and then dropped. There's downward momentum right now, so I am taking more neutral signs to indicate flat or falling markets. This morning I sold an option I bought on Wednesday, for a 75% gain. (although I was 30% down on Thursday because I didn't believe myself that the Sun Jupiter trine would lift the market). Of course this is all "paper trading" right now, not real money. But it really matches up, and all I'm really doing is following my trading rules, and watching daily transits to Jupiter and Saturn.

Coming up, there's a Mercury Jupiter trine that should lift the market on Wednesday and Thursday, then a Venus conjunct Saturn on Monday that should bring it down again if my theory holds.

There's a guy who teaches a how-to course on trading, based close to here in NC. He also sells the class CD's if you're too far away to attend. I can hook you up with his contact info.. if you want it, contact me privately. It would be fun to compare notes with other astrologers using the same course material.

HI ALL YOU STARDANCERS!

I already have another thread on global economy breakdown.
...Not much replies to that one though.

Personally, I dont have any investments made in any stockmarket or housing but I followed the markets thoroughly since last august.

...Still, as I have some, let me call it "not for profit inside information" on the story, I thought I should reveal and discuss it....

Dont think it matters too much anyways though, as I figure most people check this forum to get away from all things related to earthly materialism anyways.

In my last thread, from march somewhere, on the pending global economic meltdown, the only panel answer I recieved was that on august 19th, a solar eclipse would be affecting the NYSTE...

...Now as we have seen the last month, ALL WORLD WIDE STOCKS ARE DOWN 10-15% and the global economic catastrophe is pending (double virgo dramatic? I dont think so); now add climate changes with melting polar ice thickness from 3 metres down to two metres in a few decades and changes in the conveyorbelt since 2004 (gulf stream enabling life and not presence of ice in all of Scandinavia and US eastcoast) with severe Asian flooding causing food shortening all over (short term in N-Korea, but already in growth increasing China), increasing storms worldwide (a hurricane centre predicted number of hurricanes down to only 7-9 in total this year and as the season just started there are 4 storms worldwide already) and confused mankind still using oil, etcetera etcetera, you have a rather powerful issue that everyone will notice in the coming months.

...Molly?...

Though I learnt that on the 24th we will have another ven-merc-sun conj. sat opp. nep, all set for a crackdown.

...What could it mean that money (ven), com (merc) and ego (sun) all meet concrete (sat) opposing the illusionist (nep)????????

I dont mean to sound too pessimistic but we are facing, IMO, a global late eighties lookalike global economic crackdown and I just got to learn earlier today from another astro-loco that nep makes people able to cope with the everyday struggles. I am personally haunted by him so I can not say too much about his effect, but who does not know sat...

I am welcoming anyone pointing to other threads on this forum discussing this since I am profoundly persevered with these coming changes that will take place in very near future and if no one else is able to see this, there is something wrong somewhere....

Stardancer,

Long time no see!

I'm reading a book called America's Bubble Economy, about all these economic bubbles. Housing, credit, the dollar. I have had a sense for a while that it is unsustainable. This book breaks it down and explains how we got here and how things are likely to go from here.

It's a good book. I think you would like it.

I don't know if you are in the USA or still in Europe, or if you hear the talking heads on the financial news channels trying to convince people not to take their money out of the market. That's funny to me, and kind of sad.

This correction or recession or whatever it is that's happening now seems like a Saturn trine Pluto even to me, although not one I would have predicted. It makes sense in light of trines signaling something developing rapidly, removal of obstacles.

You're right, the world is a mess in many ways and there are many changes coming. In a way, it's a relief to see things shifting and prices adjusting to a level closer to what things are really worth. It is going to be sad for a lot of folks who have their retirement money invested in things that are so rapidly losing value. I don't think the decline is over. October is going to be scary in the market this year.

I am a trader, so while I'm watchful of the long term situation, I am more interested in the short term. Looks like tomorrow might be a down day with Mercury conjunct Saturn. And the Sun conjoins Saturn on Monday and Tuesday. I have been noticing a correlation between down days and transits to Saturn. And of course lately the down days have been REALLY down these past few weeks.

i think the money is all cockeyed ---especially with venus retrograde. and fickle. Perhaps when Sober Saturn (Dad) moves out Leo and into earthbound Virgo, there will a continuation of the 'correction.'

perhaps.

It's interesting for sure, Tracy. One crazy thing is that Jupiter will trine Saturn 3 more times, which is traditionally good for the markets (so say the books), but the first two passes were not.

Thanks for the interesting link. I had not seen that one before, but I have been watching this one:

She has some interesting commentary on Ben Bernanke:

Interesting info on Ben Bernanke. He was born just days after me!

It sure seems as if fluctuation and instability is ruling the market currently, but Saturn going into Virgo will make some changes.
We need to refinance our home mortgage sometime before next spring, and I'm thinking sooner is better than later....

Maybe so Paula. The talking heads speculate about a rate cut, but it's a short term fix at best. Eventually rates will have to go up.

Pluto will enter Capricorn soon too. To me, that's way more significant than Saturn in Virgo. And when Uranus enters Aries in 2010 and squares Pluto... that will be interesting.

just for clarification... Pluto's move into Capricorn is way more weighty than Saturn's transit...but i brought up saturn because it is happening first....

I agree with you both. I was thinking in the back of my mind about Pluto but Saturn is really on my mind because of three family members with Saturn in Virgo. I don't know how much Pluto in Capricorn will hit me personally, right off, but I know Saturn in Virgo is going to affect my twins and my husband. They were born during my husband's first Saturn cycle! Smile

Molly, any ideas on when the temporary cut might be? We have a bit of flexibility on refinancing, but not much. The Theatre sale, when it goes through, won't cover the debts we wanted it to, and we will have to pay off a balloon on our home (due next spring or before) and get it on a monthly payment instead of interest only every six months.

I'm a little bit worried about things in the future. The water shortages here in Tennessee have been critical and I think it's just a beginning of alot more to come for everyone everywhere on some level. It hits very basic, and affects the pocket book of all farmers, my neighbors. Does anyone else want a reprieve from eclipse activity for a couple years? LOL

absolutely fortuitous! I just found a reference to a financial site I had been thinking about. Ray Merriman Astrologer, if you google search, you will find his site on financial astrology. Haven't been there in a long time, but it seems like there was some good info on it last I looked. I'm going to check it out again.

Excellent, Paula. I have no idea when a rate cut might occur. I don't know for sure that Bernanke will do it.. but he will be pressured to, because rate cuts are like crack, and the market is addicted. There actually was a rate cut in the market yesterday, and the market got its fix. The Fed cut the rate at which banks can borrow money from the fed to get out of trouble.. I think it's likely if things destabilize again, the market may get another "hit" at some point. But we as a nation are in some serious debt, living way beyond our means, and one of these days other countries are going to stop lending us money to prop up our economy, and we are going to have to go through the withdrawal pains. I don't know when though. The really interesting astro starts in 2010.

I'm not an expert or anything by any means, just a lady with a big mouth who has been reading up on the economy. Smile

All I know for sure is, credit is still pretty cheap now, real estate prices are on the decline, and you should not not not get an adjustable rate mortgage.

Tracy, I didn't intend to put down your Saturn in Virgo idea. I'm sorry if I came off that way.

I took a real estate course in 1999 and was amazed at how so much stuff was linked together related to economy, rates, market. It was my first inkling at how it all comes together. I've had an ARM (adjustable rate mortgage) before. With a commercial building, they often will only offer ARM. I wouldn't want a home on an ARM, for sure.

Wow, Paula. Thanks for the insight. I didn't know it was that hard to get a fixed rate on commercial property. So I guess a lot of commercial developers will be up (crap) creek if rates don't stay low. Pluto in Cap looks kind of ominous. In the market commentary, they make it out to be mainly poor folks defaulting on mortgages they shouldn't have gotten in the first place. But I kind of think they are the canary in the coal mine.

It sounds so negative doesn't it. It is kind of scary.

Come to think of it, just this week I was doing some work for a realtor-- one of the listings I worked on was a $million+ home that was being sold by one of those foreclosure rescue companies.

yep. Florida is in a real mess with its real estate. Our title company's attorney told us we were so lucky we won't have to pay money to close, that many people are. You're probably right, a bunch of commercial developers are going to be up a creek. My father was in real estate. He survived the mid 1980's when things went horribly wrong for developers. I will always feel real estate is a good investment, because there's only so much land, but timing is everything!

I've been pondering Pluto in Capricorn, a Saturn ruled signed. Currently in a Jupiter ruled sign, we have been victims of our own excess (well, I have been) and then we're in for over three decades of Saturn ruled Pluto. That's possibly going to be some powerful denial, or discipline, or?

Pluto in Pisces would be nice to live to see, but I'll be nearly 90 when it gets into Pisces. I'm kinda dreading Pluto's station coming up in Sept. Hurricane Katrina happened with Pluto's station. Makes me flinch, waiting on it.

I'll prefer to invest in real estate sector because in stock market the ratio or profit and loss is equal but in real estate business you'll always get a profitable return on your investment..!!

Death will be a warm welcome to release.
