Intro to Horary
A question is asked. As understanding dawns in the mind of the astrologer, a moment in time is frozen. That moment is like an egg. It contains the future and has a heritage in the past. This forum is offered as a resource to astrologers to deepen and strengthen skills in reading a horary chart.
There is alot of vocabulary in horary astrology that is foreign to general astrologers. It goes way back beyond modern times to historical times when men watched the sky and predicted events based on what they could see. Many of the terms are hundreds of years old, archaic. Some Fixed stars are considered important. Traditional astrology had no knowledge of outer planets and asteroids. They worked with the Sun, and the Moon (the lights) and Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The Seven. It is amazing what you can see and find with just the seven. I will not ban discussion of outer planets or asteroids from this forum but I would encourage you to forget them when you come here, if you can. The only exception would be if one happens to be conjunct a major significator or an angle of the chart. THEN it is possible it may have some small effect on the outcome of the question. You can find the answer with just the seven. Most of the time it only takes two or three planets, sometimes just ONE planet to find an answer. All levels of skill are welcome in this forum. Welcome to all! |

I think also the Part of Fortune and the dragons head and tail are important in horary.
