I added a modification to the board to keep spambots that would harvest your e-mail address out of here.

This is great! Just PLEASE never use SORBS. They blacklisted all three of my e-mail addresses and I have never, ever sent a single spam. When I contacted them, they said it was because someone with a similar IP address to mine had sent spam, so they blocked all adjacent IP addresses, including mine! It was not fun, and took about 8 months to clear up.

I think the protection script uses the Spamhaus blacklist. spamhaus.org

Probably a good idea, although Spamhaus can be a bit over-protective - some of my messages to Yahoo groups bounce because my ISP uses Spamhaus to block e-mails, and one of the Yahoo servers is blacklisted! Oops!

oh, that's not good! Does anyone think I should remove the spam protection? Most of our e-mail addresses are hidden away anyway.

I don't think it should be a problem, Molly. Yahoo really ought to get their server issue sorted with Spamhaus themselves - and using Spamhaus doesn't stop people posting on Node-o-Rama, so I think it's a good idea to keep the spam protection.

I like the spam protection, and think it should be continued unless it becomes a problem with some members, then it can be re-evaluated. I HATE spam! Just wanted to give you the heads up on SORBS.
