I'm trying to find a topic posted a while back on Moon/Mars oppositions but the home page search gave me nothin'. How do I find it again?

Hi, HaleBop - the search facility isn't always that easy. I tried searching for "Moon Mars opposition" and found nothing - however, a search for "Moon/Mars" found this thread, which I think is the one you want:

Hope that helps!

One of the items on my list is to look for an improved search engine for this board. I don't know if such a thing exists. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

Hi, Molly -

I've seen some sites that have Google on them, with an option to restrict the Google search to the site itself.

I don't know if this is something that can be put onto any site, or whether it's something that has to be paid for - I've only seen it on commercial sites.

Don't know if we have any techies who could shed some light on this?

Oh, yes!

I have seen google site searches too.. and I have always thought that would be perfect. It would be worth paying for. But I looked on google.com and couldn't figure out how it's done.

Another service I like is atomz.com. I'm not sure what the monthly rate is, but I think it is pretty reasonable.

Greetings--

What is the "shelf life" of old threads? I wanted to post a topic, and after searching, I found a similar topic (with a few posts) from mid 2003. Should I post to that thread, or has enough time passed that it would be OK for me to start my own? Thank you.

Hi Saturnine-- thank you for asking. If the old thread is relevant to your topic, go ahead and post in it. It doesn't matter how old it is. That way we don't have a lot of repeats on the forum.
